Rapadura Sugar

We have replaced the refined caster sugar with Rapadura in most of our products.

Rapadura is a dried sugarcane juice that is common in Latin American countries. It is an unbleached, unrefined sweetener used in place of refined sugars and is the only sugar where the sugar stream is not separated from the molasses. This helps it to retain most of its essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Its unique processing gives it a mild, caramel-like flavour which is superb for baking.

It is slightly darker than normal highly processed white sugar - so our products are now a bit darker than before. We had a go at comparing it with white sugar in the bakery - it tastes almost like caramel.
